The man behind the music

The person behind ZONATEK: life between countries, fatherhood, addiction, recovery, and the ambition to bring music and honest conversation to the same stage.

Chapter 1

Before ZONATEK

ZONATEK is the music project of Ethan Kunis, an Israeli-born producer based in Michigan. Moving to the United States brought a new home and a different set of responsibilities. Building a life, earning a living, and raising a family became part of the story long before this website.

The artist identity brings those parts together. Melodic techno and progressive trance give the project its sound; the ambition to make something meaningful gives it a direction. This is a beginning built on a life already lived.

Chapter 2

The weight we carry

Running a service business and supporting a family demand practical answers every day. There are customers to help, problems to solve, and people depending on the next decision. Ethan knows that world through years of working in garage door service.

I’M GOOD makes room for another question: how is the person doing beneath all those responsibilities? Being useful to everyone around you should not mean losing the ability to speak about your own needs. That idea belongs at the center of this project.

Chapter 3

The hard chapters

Ethan’s story includes addiction. Naming it here is a choice to be open about a difficult part of life, without turning private experiences into spectacle or reducing a person to what went wrong.

This website does not try to explain every cause or fill in every detail. What matters to ZONATEK and I’M GOOD is the possibility of a next chapter: a person can struggle, seek support, and still have something worth creating and sharing.

Chapter 4

Finding a way forward

Recovery is part of Ethan’s life and part of the reason this project matters to him. ZONATEK offers a place to put creative energy, develop a body of work, and move toward a goal that reaches beyond the next day.

The music is not presented as a treatment or a cure. The hope behind the initiative is simpler: honest stories can make a difficult conversation feel possible. Professional support and personal connection have a place alongside creative purpose.

Chapter 5

Fatherhood and starting again

Fatherhood is central to the person behind ZONATEK. Ethan’s life also includes divorce and the work of starting again. Those experiences belong in his story, while his children’s lives and other people’s private experiences remain their own.

The project looks forward: toward responsibility, resilience, and a version of strength that allows honesty. The ambition is to build something his family can recognize as a meaningful part of who he is, rather than a separate life lived only in the studio.

Chapter 6

Music and purpose

ZONATEK is built around melodic techno and progressive trance: repetition that pulls you in, melodies that hold emotion, and a gradual movement from tension to release. The project gives sound and intention equal weight.

Music has a place beside work and family, rather than waiting for every other part of life to be perfect. Finishing a track is a concrete step. Sharing it is another. Together those steps make an ambition tangible.

Chapter 7

The dream that never left

Ethan has described a catalogue of around ten finished tracks and a dream of performing live. This site is a step toward that goal: a place for listeners to discover the project and for promoters to learn about the artist.

There are no invented tour dates or performance credits here. The next chapter is still taking shape. The aim is to bring original music to a room full of people and build a live experience that carries the same emotional intention as the recordings.

Chapter 8

Why I’M GOOD belongs here

I’M GOOD | Men’s Mental Health Awareness is a central part of ZONATEK’s identity. It encourages conversation about vulnerability, recovery, loneliness, responsibility, and rebuilding—subjects that often get hidden behind a quick answer.

The invitation is to listen, ask with care, and make room for an honest response. No one has to share a personal story to belong here. Music can be the first point of connection; the conversation can start when someone is ready.

If any of this sounds like you, you’re not the only one.
